The Bedroom is complete...sort of

Our first room is nearly complete - the new box spring and mattress set came today - and we could move our bed into it's permanant place.   You may wonder why we needed a new mattress set.  Hmm that is an interesting story - you will have to ask Nancy about that.  And if you want to know what kind of mattress to avoid - you can ask us both.  We are looking forward to a good night's sleep - then we will tell you if we can reccomend the new one!

This is the other end of the room - not a lot of space but it works.   The chest of drawers was a find at a resale shop - it is now painted and has new hardware, and lots of drawer space.

Nancy carefully selects which pillows from her collection will be placed on the bed.  These are known as throw pillows - I throw them on the floor when I want to use the bed so there is room to sleep...

Another surprise today was that we discovered we had a downstairs shower...except the water was coming from the upstairs shower.....not good!  It is a good thing that we have another bathroom in the basement that has a shower....what?  That water does not shut off?  Looks like it's gonna be a plumbing weekend.....Peace Out!

Valentine FUN

Noah Scored again one week later - to come over while his mom and dad were cruising the Caribbean - since Valentines day was just around the corner (and Grandpa Doug was at church)  It seemed the right thing to do was make more cookies to give away!

This is what a cookie decorating genius looks like - and his work will no doubt perish in due time...yup  - Gone

Yes they are as good as they look!

Noah's Mystery Adventure

On a cold winter's day in Michigan - there is nothing like checking in to a hotel with grandpa Doug and Gramma Nancy - just for time to kick back and watch TV...and get cozy

This is what kick-en back looks like

Of course when you get tired of kick-en back - there is always splashin in the pool and hot tub...ya mean we have the whole place to ourselves...cool!

Things start to heat up when Noah starts dealin Old Maid cards!

and nothing says adventure like Chocolate....Noah and Gramma try a new recipe from scratch of Chocolate cookies - with chocolate chips - made with Almond butter...Whoa DUDE!
Now That is a great weekend!

Blizzard 2011 - Ground Hog Day

Ground Hog Day greeted us with the Blizzard of 2011
In this photo - Blue is sad because Red Jeep got to go out and "Do the Storm"  It is a Jeep thing and today - people do understand.  Nancy had to leave for work at 4:30 AM and at that time we had received 15" in the overnight hours.  She was one of two people that made it in.  the Night shift had to stay at work... I suspect that gave them a bad case of the "gurmpies"  But it is possible they could not get to their homes anyway.

Nice Rim Shot - Okay by next year I will have painted the backboard and gotten a new net - But This is a Ring of snow..just sittin on the rim

The view from the front window after the John Deere took care of the snow problem.
My neighbor was out clearing snow and had to marvel at the "1972" snowblower.  John Deere said...This is nothing - I did the blizzards of 77 and 78 - these are just flurries compard to those years.

Snow capped Herman!
