November Storm

A Major Storm swept upon us Nov 12 - with big winds. It was still warm out - in the 50's so lots of people were at the beach checking out historic waves.

The Camera was not very cooperative but here are a few shots. The North Pier is covered by waves.

what have we been doing since August - an Oct 31 post

Since it is a rainy day and others are updating their blogs it is about time we did as well

So What have we been doing when we are not busy with ministry and work?

Added New lights in the basement and painted the floor

Had a Party for Elizabeth...she wanted doughnuts!

...And she got a pony!...she was not too sure of it.

We grew a mushroom without even trying....

Built some bookshelves

Our Toad Lilly's finally bloomed

Had a Treasure Hunt

Had to figure out the clues!

yup - some buried Treasure

Some inside orange Rockets

Seriously...in the dirt of the crawl space?!!

What....floating in the water?

Stats prove kids read more if they have their own books...gotta put em somewhere!

We officially welcomed Asher and Bianca into the family!

Oh yeah...began work on a train layout that everyone can run

Ya Gotta Go the the Fair

We had frequently talked about taking the older Grandkids to the Fair - since it is just down the street from us - so we found out when the dirt track and demolition derby was taking place - and away we went.

We thought the auto races would be exciting for the boys but it seemed the games and the rides were the main attraction.

He preferred the zipper and the tilt a whirl..

This ride had a problem...yes the operator is pushing it....

Yes we whirled - FAST!....for some reason riding with grandpa made it faster

(weight and balance issues I think)

Summer is not Summer unless you camp at the beach!

Clayton and Michelle and the Grandkids were all there

As were many of our friends ..It was all great fun.

Start out with a waffle and egg breakfast

It may have been a cool morning

So we hit the road - the bikes flew by often - with calls of "Hi Grandpa - Hi Grandma"...or the ringing of each persons bike bell.

We went to the beach often

The Water was cold - first day 44 degrees!

So we played on the beach...no one was in the water!

When it warmed up - everyone was in the water!

Cant camp without a storm coming in ..sometime.

This day had a morning severe storm and an evening severe storm..

with a Tornado warning included.

And for a little added excitement - we had a plane crash on the beach - just north of were we had been sitting - The pilot was okay - just had engine failure -
