Finally Painting

Michigan  gave us one day to paint this week - Friday May 27,  A day without rain.  the clouds were a great help too.  Of course we are supposed to not let water sit on this for 7 days....so it can cure....so one day later it is raining again.  Glad we are not camping!

Nancy walks on the walls...and yes the  bottom of the ladder rails are painted blue courtesy of the previous painter.

Doug - going deep

Pool cleaning Part TWO

ON Friday I began pumping down the black lagoon - I ran about a hundred feet of hose down the driveway and sent the smelly sludge down the street - to the storm drain.  You can see that while waiting for it to pump down - I spent time scrubbing the side walls - with simple TSP - it took very little scrubbing for which I was greatful

This is the view from the other end - that 90 gallon dumpster on the left is being filled for the second time with wet soggy leaves and etc...What you cant see is just how many were still under the water...along with bricks and branches.   And the slime on the slope is slippery and once you start going..your gone...I was...and Nancy did not have the camera!

On Saturday we began the finer cleaning and scraping of the surfaces that will need to be repainted...by the time Nancy got to the second step - she wondered if there was an easier way...I said "There is"!

Happy Birthday to me.....We went and picked it up right away!

A much better looking pool

The Nanster is quite pleased with the power washer.....but sorry honey
"You cannot use it in the house"!

Pools open - dive carefully - or not at all

Along with a foreclosed house came a foreclosed pool - It is not a pretty picture.  We had a great day working together taking off the cover to discover the lagoon beneath....although as you see from the green slime that was on the cover - there was a top lagoon and a bottom lagoon.   Nancy thought we should get some large plecostomous for the pool (Algae eaters from the aquatic world)  What you cannot appreciate from the pictures...is the smell.

This is the bucket brigade....I scoop the soup - and Nancy dumps it....Oh yeah by the time we were done I had to take the cover off the drain and clean that out with the shop vac too.

Not too sure if these clothes will ever come clean

Nancy's Dutch training in street scrubbing comes in for something practical

It will get better - stay tuned!

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day Clayton and the Boys invited Nancy and I over for Grilled chicken and fresh caught salmon...and a salad and dessert of course.   We missed Michelle as she was away at school for the weekend.
