Pentwater Camping and a Surprise

On a fine week in August we camped at Mears State Park in Pentwater MI.
Water temps in Lake Michigan were 75 degrees and the air temps in the mid 80's  - a perfect Summer week

The 1970 Airstream was happy to be there...so was Nancy

There were Fantastic Sunsets after Fantastic Days
 t

We even boosted the little people onto the back of the bench so they could see too...and not get stepped on!   (did not even try to get this picture to look like that)

It was Nancy's Birthday while we were there - so we thought it would make a great place for a Surprise Party......

The key to a great surprise birthday party is location - location - location....while Clayton and I had schemed the place and time...Nancy changed her mind on where to go for dinner - 3 times - even suggesting lunch instead of dinner.   Those joining us had over an hours drive so this got a bit tricky!...But yes she was surprised...Thanks to Ken and Sharon who helped out too....and somehow Clayton avoided the camera shots!

This is all chocolate Ice cream cake from Cold stone....yup I know you want some NOW!...sorry it was all consumed!...actually - I am not sorry...it was that great!

Presents from the heart!

While nosing around North of Pentwater - we found this place that was marked on the Map..(Thanks to Bett and Loren for the Map)   We purchased some great smoked Lake Trout...and will make this a destination for another meal or two for our next visit....or actually make it a destination for a Fall trip.

It's All Good!

Florida in Summer - You Bet!

At the end of May and the first week of June we went to Pensacola to Visit Adam and Sandra - Tahlia - Elyza - and Lydia....and finally got the pics off the phone and onto the computer - where I could Blog them.

Here's Lydia

Elyza on her new bike...no need to pedal when daddy is pushing!

Reading Club - Florida style

Playground time

Chick fil A...You Bet - gonnagetmesomeofthat!!

Went fishing..caught a puffer - like reeling in a softball.  I caught a flounder too
 - WE ate it!

Whenever we are there we head to Joe Pattie's for seafood - then come home - melt some butter and eat shrimp and other fish....but not the lobster!

Of course we need to go to the beach for some great fun...water temp about 80 degrees

Back at home the girls played dress up with some gifts we brought

Or just play with the box!

See ya next time!
